At Fairlawns Guest House, we believe that great hospitality and caring for the environment go hand in hand. We’re committed to reducing our environmental impact through thoughtful, practical choices while continuing to provide a warm, comfortable and enjoyable stay for every guest.

We generate renewable electricity on-site and store excess energy for use when it’s needed.

The guest house is fitted with LED lighting throughout to reduce energy consumption.

Wherever possible, we choose reusable or refillable alternatives instead of disposable plastic products.

We recycle and compost as much of our waste as possible to minimise landfill.

We use environmentally friendly cleaning products from our local refill shop, Nothing But Footprints, reducing unnecessary packaging and supporting a local independent business.

We use recycled toilet paper from brands such as Who Gives A Crap and Naked Paper to help reduce our environmental footprint.

Our bacon and sausages are sourced locally from the Cotswolds, helping to support local businesses and reduce food miles.

Parts of our gardens are intentionally left wild, creating valuable habitat for bees, butterflies and other pollinators.

Guests travelling by electric vehicle can use our two, type 2, 7 kW EV charging points during their stay (charging fee applies).

We encourage guests to reuse towels where possible, helping to conserve water and reduce energy used for laundering.
Sustainability is an ongoing journey, and we’re always looking for ways to improve. By making thoughtful choices every day, we hope to reduce our impact on the environment while ensuring every guest enjoys a welcoming and memorable stay at Fairlawns Guest House.
